It all started when a friend gave me that extra nudge I needed to start my own fitness-based Instagram page. Aside from teaching, this became another great outlet for me to share my love of dance and fitness with the world. To my very pleasant surprise i gained 20,000 followers in just over a year. Along the way I was able to connect with such amazing people in the fitness community, who have been nothing but so loving, supportive, and inspirational.
I've always enjoyed the feeling of helping others, whether it be a student of mine or a complete stranger. I often get choked up when someone is genuinely nice to me for no other reason than because it's just nice to be nice; no other ulterior motive. I think that's something that's way too sparse in this world.
In the beginning of April I launched my YouTube channel, Dansique Fitness, providing the world with free full length instructional workouts that could be done anywhere. The only things required are a yoga mat, some space, and determination.
I really do believe Fitness should be accessible to anyone and everyone. After all, our bodies are the only place we have to live, so it's important to take care of them! As a former professional dancer in NYC (also known as a "struggling artist"), I never had tons of money. Not everyone, including myself, is in the financial position to join a gym, let alone hire a personal trainer. People like Cassie Ho of Blogilates, and Kelli and Daniel of Fitness Blender, really inspired me and made me want to be a part of that group who puts out free videos for everyone's fitness needs. The reward is when you hear people say things like, "I love your workouts...they're so fun and creative...thank you for sharing your knowledge...you're such an inspiration to me...I can feel the change in my body."
So, thank you for joining the Dansique family! Your love and support means the world to me. Let's continue to lift one another up, inspire, motivate, and spread kindness all over! <3
